Noomi Rapace (née Norén, born 28 December 1979 in Hudiksvall) is a Swedish actress. Her father was Rogelio Durán, a Spanish cantaor (Flamenco singer) from Badajoz.

Grier was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, U.S., the daughter of Gwendolyn Sylvia (née Samuels), a homemaker and nurse, and Clarence Ransom Grier, who worked as a mechanic and Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force. She has one sister and one brother, and is a cousin of football player Rosey Grier. Vega was born in Seville, Andalucía, Spain to a homemaker mother and a retired bullfighter father. Vega has described her family as "traditional" and Catholic. She took her stage name from her grandmother. After attending a performance of Federico García Lorca's La casa de Bernarda Alba at the age of 15 she was convinced that she wanted to become an actress. After completing compulsory education at 16, she was accepted at the prestigious Centro Andaluz de Teatro stage school.
